Job Description
The General Manager of Operations is responsible for overall oversight of all company operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability. This leadership role develops and implements operational strategies, improves productivity, manages resources, and achieves operational and business objectives.
Main responsibilities:
- Leadership and Supervision: Lead and direct multiple operational teams, set goals, and provide guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.
- Strategy Development: Developing, implementing and implementing operational plans and strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives.
- Process Improvement: Identifying improvement opportunities in operational processes and procedures, and implementing best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs..
- Budget Management: Develop and manage operating budgets, and monitor expenditures to ensure financial goals are met.
- Performance Management: Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor operational performance, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Resource Management: Ensuring the optimal allocation of resources (human, material, financial) to achieve operational objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Overseeing the quality standards and safety of processes, products or services.
- Operational Planning: Develop detailed business plans for daily, weekly, and monthly operations to ensure smooth operation.
- Relationship Management: Building strong relationships with other departments within the company, suppliers, and external partners.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential operational risks and develop plans to mitigate them.
Basic requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred.)
- At least [8] years of practical experience in leadership positions in operations or operations, including [4] years in a senior management position.
- Deep understanding of operations management principles and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Proven ability to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in using project management software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and other relevant technology tools.
